Although the decision alledgedly hasn't been made as yet, there seems to be no doubt that around 600 British troops are about to be redeployed near Baghdad under American control.
We're told that this is militarily necessary, but to me this seems unlikely. Are we really supposed to believe that the USA can't find a few hundred more troops to dispatch to Iraq to sort out a mess largely of their own making?
I think it's safe to assume that the idea here is somewhat more political. There's an election in the states in a couple of weeks and I doubt that's a coincidence...
